Exodus 26Previous Chapter | Next ChapterThe Tabernacle1“You shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine wovenlinen and with blue, purple, and scarlet material.You shall make them with cherubim skillfully worked into them.2The length of each curtain shall be forty-two feet,the width of each curtain six feet,and all the curtains shall have the same measurements.3“Five of the curtains shall be joined together, and the other five curtains shall be joined together.4You shall make loops of blue materialalong the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set, and likewise you shall make loops along the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.5You shall make fifty loops in the one curtain, and you shall make fifty loops along the edge of the curtain that is in the second set, with the loops opposite each other.6Then you shall make fifty gold clasps, and join the curtains to each other with the clasps so that the tabernacle will be one piece.7“You shall make curtains of goat hair for a tent over the tabernacle. You shall make eleven curtains.8The length of each curtain shall be forty-five feet,and the width of each curtain six feet;the measurements of each of the eleven curtains shall be the same.9You shall join five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and you shall double over the sixth curtain at the front of the tent.10You shall make fifty loops along the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the curtain of the other set.11You shall make fifty bronze clasps, put the clasps into the loops, and join the tent together so that it will be one piece.12As for the excess that remains of the curtains of the tent—the half curtain that remains—shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.13The nine inchesthat remain on either end of the length of the curtains of the tent shall hang over each side of the tabernacle to cover it.14“You shall make a cover for the tabernacle of ram skins dyed redand a covering of dolphinskins above that.15“You shall make upright boards of acacia wood for the tabernacle.16Each board shall be fifteen feetlong and twenty-seven inches wide.17Each board shall have two pegs joined to one another, and thus you shall do for all the boards of the tabernacle.18You shall make the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side.19And you shall make forty silver socketsunder the twenty boards: two socketsunder the one board for its two pegs and two socketsunder the nextboard for its two pegs.20“For the second side of the tabernacle to the north you shall maketwenty boards21and forty silver socketsfor them, two socketsunder one board and two socketsunder the nextboard.22On the west you shall make six boards for the rear of the tabernacle,23and you shall make two boards for the rear corners of the tabernacle.24They shall be interlocked togetherat the bottom and connectedon top by one ring. Thus it shall be for the two of them, and they shall be the two corners.25There shall be eight boards with their sixteen silver sockets,two socketsunder one board and two socketsunder the nextboard.26“You shall make bars of acacia wood, five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle,27five bars for the boards on the second side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards on the back side of the tabernacle to the west.28The center bar in the middle of the boards shall pass through from end to end.29You shall overlay the boards with gold, and you shall make gold rings for them as holders for the bars, and you shall overlay the bars with gold.30You shall erect the tabernacle according to the plan for it that was shown you on the mountain.31“You shall make a curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet material and fine wovenlinen. You shall make it with cherubim skillfully worked into it.32You shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, which have hooks of gold, and are set on four socketsof silver.33You shall hang the curtain fromthe clasps and bring the Ark of the Testimony there inside the curtain. The curtain shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.34“You shall put the Mercy Seaton the Ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.35You shall put the table outside the curtain. You shall put the table on the north side with the lamp stand opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle.36For the doorway of the tent you shall make a screen of blue, purple, and scarlet materialand fine wovenlinen, the work of an embroiderer.37You shall make five pillars of acacia for the screens and overlay them with gold. Their hooks shall be of gold, and you shall cast five bronze socketsfor them.”
